Description
Crispy roasted chickpeas coated in smoky spices and chili for a healthy, crunchy snack packed with bold flavor.
Ingredients
1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1 ½ teaspoons olive oil
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon turmeric
¼ teaspoon ground cumin
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet or baking pan with parchment paper.
2. Drain and rinse the chickpeas thoroughly. Spread them onto a clean kitchen towel or paper towels and pat dry well. Let them air dry for a few minutes if needed.
3. Transfer the chickpeas to a mixing bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Stir until evenly coated.
4. In a small bowl, combine the chili powder, smoked paprika, turmeric, and cumin.
5. Sprinkle the spice mixture over the chickpeas and toss until all the chickpeas are evenly coated.
6. Spread the chickpeas in a single layer on the prepared baking pan, making sure they are not overcrowded.
7. Roast for 20 to 25 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through, until the chickpeas are golden and crispy.
8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Season with salt and black pepper to taste before serving.
Notes
For extra crispy chickpeas, dry them thoroughly before roasting.
