Description

A comforting baked meatball dish loaded with marinara sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 pound ground turkey

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided

1/4 cup heavy cream

1 large egg

2 tablespoons grated onion

6 garlic cloves, minced

1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 cups marinara sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, optional

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground turkey, 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese, heavy cream, egg, grated onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until everything is evenly combined.

3. Shape the mixture into 24 meatballs and arrange them in a 9×13-inch baking dish.

4. Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the meatballs. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese and remaining Parmesan cheese over the top.

5. Bake uncovered for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the meatballs are fully cooked and reach 160°F in the center.

6. Remove the dish from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley, if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

Avoid overmixing the meat mixture to keep the meatballs tender.

Freshly grated Parmesan gives the best flavor and texture.

Serve with pasta, garlic bread, or roasted vegetables.
