Description
A rich and comforting one-pot pasta dish made with ground beef, tomatoes, and cream.
Ingredients
1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
2 garlic cloves, finely minced
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 pound ground beef
2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
2 tablespoons tomato paste
14 ounces crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
12 ounces short pasta
3/4 cup heavy cream
Grated Parmesan cheese
Chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add garlic and onion, cook 1–2 minutes.
2. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in Italian seasoning, then tomato paste.
3. Pour in crushed tomatoes and chicken broth. Season and add pasta.
4. Simmer uncovered about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. Stir in heavy cream and simmer 1–2 minutes until creamy.
6. Remove from heat, serve with Parmesan and parsley.
Notes
Stir frequently toward the end to prevent sticking.
Adjust spice level with red pepper flakes.
Add extra broth when reheating if needed.
