Ingredients
2 cups ricotta cheese
1 large egg
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 yellow onion, finely diced
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup chicken broth
40 ounces marinara sauce
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
12 lasagna noodles
2 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
1. Mix ricotta, egg, mozzarella, Parmesan, seasoning, salt, and pepper until smooth.
2. Heat oil and cook onion until softened.
3. Add beef, cook until browned, add garlic, then drain fat.
4. Stir in broth, marinara, tomato paste, hot sauce, and Worcestershire; simmer.
5. Cook noodles until al dente and drain.
6. Layer sauce, noodles, cheese mixture, and repeat.
7. Top with sauce and mozzarella.
8. Bake covered at 375°F for 35 minutes, then uncovered 10 minutes.
9. Rest 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
Let lasagna rest before slicing for best structure.
Use freshly grated cheese for better melting.
Can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking.
