Description

Flaky, buttery puff pastry wrapped around a rich cheddar filling and baked until golden brown. These savory cheese twists are perfect for parties, lunchboxes, and easy entertaining.


Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry (about 11 oz), thawed if frozen

3 tablespoons cheese spread

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon milk


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. Unroll the puff pastry onto a cutting board, keeping it on its parchment paper if included.

3. Spread the cheese spread evenly over the entire surface of the pastry.

4. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over one half of the pastry.

5. Fold the other half of the pastry over the cheese-covered side and gently press down to seal.

6. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the pastry into strips about ¾ inch wide.

7. Hold each strip at both ends and twist several times to create a spiral shape.

8. Arrange the twists on the prepared baking sheets, leaving a little space between them.

9. Brush each twist lightly with milk.

10. Bake for 12–14 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.

11. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Keep the puff pastry cold while working for the flakiest texture.

Serve warm or at room temperature.

Reheat briefly in the oven to restore crispness.
