Description

Crispy baked white fish topped with Parmesan, garlic, and buttery panko breadcrumbs for an easy seafood dinner.

Ingredients

20 ounces firm white fish fillets, such as cod, haddock, or tilapia

2/3 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons softened butter

1 garlic clove, grated

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly coat it with cooking spray.

2. Place the white fish fillets on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.

3. In a small bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, softened butter, grated garlic, lemon zest, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until evenly combined.

4. Spoon the breadcrumb mixture over the fish and gently press it onto the tops of the fillets.

5. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until the fish is tender, flakes easily with a fork, and the topping is golden and crisp.

6. Drizzle with fresh lemon juice before serving.

Notes

Pat the fish dry before adding the topping for the crispiest texture.

Use fresh lemon juice for the brightest flavor.

Thin fillets may cook faster, so check for doneness early.
