Ingredients

4 egg whites, whisked until frothy

1 large sweet onion, halved and sliced into petal-shaped pieces

2 cups panko breadcrumbs

1 cup all-purpose flour

4 teaspoons seasoned salt, divided

1 teaspoon garlic powder, divided

1/2 teaspoon black pepper, divided

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, divided

2/3 cup mayonnaise

1/3 cup ketchup


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet.

2. Place onion petals, flour, breadcrumbs, and egg whites into separate bowls.

3. Divide seasonings between flour and breadcrumbs.

4. Coat onion petals in flour.

5. Dip into egg whites.

6. Coat with breadcrumbs.

7. Arrange on baking sheet.

8. Bake 18 to 20 minutes, rotating halfway.

9. Mix mayonnaise and ketchup for sauce.

10. Refrigerate sauce until serving.
