Description
These baked Monte Cristo sliders combine smoked turkey, Gruyère cheese, buttery rolls, and raspberry preserves for the ultimate sweet and savory comfort food.
Ingredients
12 sweet dinner rolls
1 pound deli-sliced smoked turkey
1/2 pound shredded Gruyère cheese
1/2 cup salted butter, melted
1 large egg, beaten
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
Powdered sugar, for topping
Raspberry preserves, for serving
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or foil, leaving a little overhang for easy lifting. Lightly grease the lining.
2. Keep the rolls attached and slice them in half horizontally. Place the bottom half in the prepared baking dish.
3. Layer the smoked turkey evenly over the rolls, then sprinkle the shredded Gruyère cheese on top.
4. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and mayonnaise until smooth.
5. Pour half of the sauce over the turkey and cheese. Add the top half of the rolls, then brush or pour the remaining sauce evenly over the tops.
6. Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes, until the sliders are golden and the cheese is melted. Cover loosely with foil if the tops brown too quickly.
7. Let the sliders cool for 5 to 10 minutes. Lift them from the pan, slice into individual portions, dust with powdered sugar, and serve warm with raspberry preserves.
Notes
For extra crisp tops, bake uncovered during the final 5 minutes.
Serve warm for the best melted cheese texture.
Raspberry preserves balance the savory filling perfectly.
