Description

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups heavy cream

2 garlic cloves, finely minced

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

2 1/2 pounds starchy potatoes (such as russet), peeled

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 1/2 cups shredded melting cheese

2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves (optional)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease baking dish

2. Mix cream, butter, and garlic

3. Slice potatoes thinly

4. Layer potatoes, cream, seasoning, and cheese

5. Repeat layers finishing with potatoes

6. Cover and bake 1 hour 15 minutes

7. Add cheese and bake uncovered 10–15 minutes

8. Rest before serving
