Taco Stuffed Bread is a bold, cheesy baked French loaf filled with seasoned ground beef, salsa, cream cheese, and melted Colby Jack. Perfect for parties, game nights, and family dinners.
Ingredients
1 large (20–22 inch) French bread loaf
1 pound lean ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
1 medium jalapeño or poblano pepper, seeded and diced
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
2/3 cup chunky salsa
4 ounces chive and onion cream cheese, softened
1 packet (1 ounce) taco seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
2 cups shredded Colby Jack or Monterey Jack cheese, divided
Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, chopped cilantro, diced tomatoes, sour cream, diced onion, sliced olives
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Hollow out the center of the French bread, leaving bottom and sides intact.
2. Heat olive oil in a skillet. Cook ground beef, onion, and pepper for 8–10 minutes until browned. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more. Drain grease.
3. Stir in salsa, cream cheese, taco seasoning, salt, and lemon pepper. Simmer 2 minutes until creamy and heated through.
4. Sprinkle 1 cup cheese inside the bread. Fill with beef mixture and top with remaining cheese.
5. Bake 12–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Rest 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Allow bread to rest before slicing for clean cuts.
Adjust spice level with mild or hot salsa.
Reheat leftovers in oven at 350°F for best texture.
