Description
A classic baked pasta dish with a firm spaghetti crust, creamy cheese center, and flavorful marinara topping.
Ingredients
8 ounces dry spaghetti
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
3 tablespoons softened butter
1 large egg
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 cup cottage cheese or ricotta
1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
Instructions
1. Heat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a deep pie dish.
2. Cook the spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and transfer the hot pasta to a large bowl.
3. In a separate small bowl, beat the egg. Add it to the warm pasta along with the softened butter. Toss until the butter melts.
4. Stir in the Parmesan, basil, salt, and pepper. Press the mixture firmly into the prepared pie dish to form an even crust.
5. Spread the cottage cheese or ricotta evenly over the pasta layer.
6. Spoon the marinara sauce on top, smoothing it into an even layer.
7. Bake for 20 minutes. Let the pie rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.
8. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3–4 days and reheat in the microwave.
Notes
Use ricotta for a creamier texture or cottage cheese for a lighter option. Allow resting time for clean slices.
