Description

Shrimp cooked in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, served with rice and broccoli for a quick and satisfying dinner.

Ingredients

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 teaspoon grated garlic (from about 2 cloves)

1/4 cup honey

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 pound large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Lemon wedges for serving

2 cups cooked rice

2 cups cooked broccoli

Instructions

1. Place a large skillet over medium-high heat and melt the butter.

2. Add the grated garlic and cook while stirring for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant.

3. Stir in the honey and soy sauce. Continue stirring and cook for about 1 minute until the sauce becomes bubbly and slightly thick.

4. Add the lemon juice and salt, then stir well. Pour half of the sauce into a small bowl and set it aside for serving. Transfer the remaining sauce into another bowl to use for glazing the shrimp.

5. Without cleaning the skillet, arrange half of the shrimp in a single layer. Cook for about 1 minute on each side until the shrimp turn pink but are still slightly translucent in the center.

6. Move the cooked shrimp to a plate and repeat with the remaining shrimp.

7. Return all the shrimp to the skillet and pour in the sauce reserved for glazing. Stir continuously and cook for about 1 minute until the shrimp are fully coated and cooked through.

8. Transfer the shrimp to a serving platter and sprinkle with chopped parsley.

9. Serve immediately with lemon wedges, hot rice, steamed broccoli, and the reserved honey garlic sauce on the side.

Notes

Pat shrimp dry before cooking to help them sear properly.

Do not overcook shrimp to keep them tender and juicy.

A pinch of chili flakes can be added for mild heat.
