Description
Buttery, flaky puff pastry filled with creamy garlic herb chicken and baked until golden brown.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon butter
2/3 cup sweet onion, finely diced
2 teaspoons fresh garlic, minced
1/2 pound cooked chicken, shredded
8 ounces creamy garlic and herb Swiss cheese
Salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
2 packages frozen puff pastry dough, thawed
1 large egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Melt butter in a skillet over low heat. Add diced onion and cook until soft and translucent, about 5–7 minutes.
3. Stir in minced garlic and cook 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
4. Increase heat to medium, add shredded chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat.
5. Stir in garlic and herb Swiss cheese until fully melted and combined.
6. Roll out puff pastry sheets and cut into six squares per sheet.
7. Place 2 tablespoons filling in center of each square. Brush water along edges, fold diagonally, and seal with a fork.
8. Brush tops with beaten egg and bake 20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
Notes
Keep puff pastry cold for best rise.
Cook vegetables thoroughly before adding to avoid excess moisture.
Reheat in oven to maintain flakiness.
