Description
A creamy, tangy Honey Mustard Chicken Skillet Dinner made in just 30 minutes. Seared chicken breasts simmered in a rich honey Dijon sauce—all in one pan.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons olive oil
Honey Dijon Sauce:
2 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 1/2 cups heavy cream or whole milk
1/4 cup honey
1/3 cup Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap. Gently pound them until they are an even thickness so they cook evenly.
2. Season both sides of the chicken with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for about 5–7 minutes per side, until golden brown and fully cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside, keeping it warm.
4. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, stirring frequently, until fragrant.
5. Pour in the cream or milk, then whisk in the honey, Dijon mustard, and spicy brown mustard until smooth.
6. Stir in the paprika, cayenne pepper, and additional salt and pepper to taste. Let the sauce simmer gently for 2–3 minutes, until slightly thickened.
7. Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon the sauce over the top, and cook for another 1–2 minutes to warm everything through.
8. Serve hot, with extra sauce drizzled over the chicken.
Notes
Use chicken thighs instead of breasts if preferred—just adjust the cooking time slightly.
Whole milk works well for a lighter sauce, but heavy cream offers a richer texture.
For a spicier kick, increase the cayenne pepper or add a dash of hot sauce.
