Garlic Mushroom Cheese Toasts deliver a rich, savory bite with golden mushrooms, gentle garlic, and melted mozzarella layered over buttery toasted bread.
Ingredients
14 ounces sliced white mushrooms
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon minced garlic
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
4 slices bread
4 tablespoons butter, softened
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
2. Warm the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they release moisture and begin to brown.
3. Spread butter on both sides of each bread slice. Place the bread on a baking sheet and toast for 4–5 minutes.
4. Add garlic to the mushrooms and cook for 1 minute.
5. Transfer mushrooms to a bowl and season with salt, pepper, and oregano. Stir in half the cheese.
6. Spoon mixture over toasted bread and top with remaining cheese.
7. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until cheese melts.
8. Serve warm.
Notes
Use thick-cut bread for better structure. Mix mushroom varieties for deeper flavor. Broil briefly for a crisp finish.
