Description

Creamy Chicken Philly Pasta Bake is a hearty one-skillet meal with tender chicken, sautéed peppers and onions, and a rich, cheesy sauce. Inspired by Philly cheesesteak flavors, this pasta bake is comforting, quick, and unforgettable.

Ingredients

12 ounces dry penne pasta

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-size pieces

1 tablespoon butter

1 small yellow onion, thinly sliced

1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 small jalapeño, finely diced (seeds removed for mild heat)

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon all-purpose steak-style seasoning

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

2 cups heavy cream

1 teaspoon Worcestershire-style sauce

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

7 slices provolone cheese

Chopped fresh parsley, optional for garnish

Instructions

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the penne until al dente according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken, butter, onion, bell pepper, jalapeño, garlic powder, seasoning, salt, and pepper.

3. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is fully cooked and lightly golden.

4. Pour in the heavy cream and Worcestershire-style sauce. Reduce heat slightly and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

5. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, until the sauce thickens.

6. Fold the cooked pasta into the skillet until evenly coated with sauce.

7. Lay the provolone slices over the top. Cover the skillet or place it under a broiler just until the cheese melts.

8. Serve hot, finished with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

To adjust the heat level, keep some jalapeño seeds or swap for a milder pepper.

This dish can be transferred to a casserole dish and broiled for a classic bake look.

Reheat with a splash of cream or broth to restore saucy texture.
