Description

Chicken Parmesan Bubble Up is a cheesy, comforting casserole made with frozen popcorn chicken, fluffy biscuit pieces, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella. This easy baked dinner is perfect for busy weeknights and ready in just 45 minutes.


Ingredients

1 pound frozen breaded popcorn chicken

1 (24-ounce) jar marinara or spaghetti sauce

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 (6-ounce) cans refrigerated biscuits (10 biscuits total)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)

Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)


Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Lightly coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

2. Cut each biscuit into quarters and place the pieces in a large mixing bowl.

3. Add the frozen popcorn chicken, marinara sauce, 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning to the bowl. Gently stir until everything is evenly coated.

4. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish, making sure the biscuit pieces are distributed throughout so they bake properly.

5. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese and the Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.

6. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the biscuits are fully cooked through and golden on top.

7. Let the casserole rest for about 5 minutes before serving. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes on top if you like a little heat.

Notes

Make sure biscuit pieces are evenly distributed to prevent undercooked centers.

For extra crispness, bake uncovered on the middle rack.
