Description
Chicken Parm Bread Boat is a crispy, cheesy Italian-American baked sandwich made with golden fried chicken, creamy tomato sauce, and melted provolone inside crusty Italian bread.
Ingredients
3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 large eggs
1 cup plain bread crumbs
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon black pepper
Vegetable oil, for frying
1 large Italian bread loaf
8 slices provolone cheese
2 tablespoons butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup tomato paste
1 cup tomato sauce
3/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 tablespoon red pepper flakes
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
1. Slice the chicken breasts in half horizontally to create thinner cutlets. Pound until even in thickness.
2. Whisk eggs in one dish. Combine bread crumbs, salt, and pepper in another.
3. Dip chicken into eggs, then coat with bread crumbs, pressing gently.
4. Heat oil in skillet and fry chicken 2–3 minutes per side until golden. Set aside.
5. Melt butter in pan. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds. Stir in tomato paste and cook 2 minutes.
6. Add tomato sauce, whisk in heavy cream and red pepper flakes. Simmer 3–4 minutes. Stir in Parmesan.
7. Slice and hollow the Italian bread loaf.
8. Layer chicken inside bread. Spoon sauce over and top with provolone.
9. Broil 2–3 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
10. Slice and serve warm.
Notes
Do not overcrowd the pan while frying to maintain crispiness.
Watch closely while broiling to prevent burning.
Let the bread boat rest briefly before slicing for cleaner cuts.
