Chicken Alfredo French Bread Pizza features creamy homemade Alfredo sauce, seasoned chicken, and melted mozzarella baked on crisp French bread for an easy appetizer or satisfying dinner.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/3 cups heavy cream
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes
2 cups cooked, seasoned chicken breast, roughly chopped
1 loaf French bread
2 1/2 cups freshly shredded mozzarella cheese
1 1/2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
2. In a large nonstick skillet over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and cook for about 20 seconds until fragrant.
3. Slowly whisk in heavy cream. Add Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes. Stir until smooth.
4. Bring to a gentle simmer without boiling. Cook 3 to 4 minutes, whisking constantly, until slightly thickened.
5. Stir in Parmesan cheese until fully melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
6. Fold chopped cooked chicken into the Alfredo sauce until evenly coated.
7. Slice French bread in half lengthwise and hollow out some of the soft interior.
8. Spread the chicken Alfredo mixture evenly over both halves.
9. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the top.
10. Bake uncovered for about 15 minutes until cheese is melted and lightly golden. Broil 1 to 2 minutes if desired.
11. Remove from oven, garnish with chopped parsley, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
Prepare the Alfredo chicken mixture up to one day ahead and refrigerate.
Reheat leftovers in a 350°F oven to maintain crispness.
For a vegetarian-adaptable version, substitute a plant-based chicken alternative.
