Description
Crispy air fryer calzones filled with creamy homemade Alfredo sauce, tender chicken, and melted mozzarella, brushed with garlic butter and ready in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
For the Calzones
1 pound prepared pizza dough
2 cups cooked chicken breast, diced or shredded
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Marinara sauce, for dipping (optional)
For the Alfredo Sauce
5 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup heavy cream
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
For the Garlic Butter Topping
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 teaspoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
Instructions
1. Prepare the Alfredo sauce by melting butter over medium-low heat and cooking the garlic until fragrant.
2. Stir in heavy cream, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 3 minutes until slightly thickened.
3. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until smooth. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
4. Divide pizza dough into four equal portions and roll into 6-inch circles.
5. Spoon 1 tablespoon Alfredo sauce into the center of each circle, leaving a border.
6. Add chicken and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
7. Fold dough over filling, press edges firmly, and crimp to seal.
8. Brush tops with melted butter mixed with parsley.
9. Air fry at 375°F for 8 minutes, brushing again with garlic butter halfway through.
10. Brush lightly with remaining butter and serve warm with marinara if desired.
Notes
Do not overfill the calzones to prevent leaking.
Allow Alfredo sauce to cool slightly before assembling.
Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the air fryer.
Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 350°F to restore crispness.
