Ingredients
8 ounces large shell pasta
1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons taco seasoning
3/4 cup water
1 cup salsa
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package directions until tender. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned and fully cooked. Drain off excess fat.
3. Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the beef, pour in the water, and stir well. Let it simmer until most of the liquid has cooked off and the beef is well coated.
4. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet along with the salsa. Stir until everything is evenly combined.
5. Sprinkle the cheese over the pasta mixture and stir gently until melted and creamy.
6. Serve hot right away. Optional toppings can include crushed tortilla chips or a spoonful of extra salsa.
Notes
For a spicier version, use hot salsa or add diced jalapeños.
Ground turkey or chicken can be substituted for beef.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Reheat with a splash of water or salsa to maintain creaminess.
