Description
Warm, savory pastry spirals filled with tender vegetables and smooth cream cheese, baked until golden for an easy party-ready appetizer.
Ingredients
Cooking spray
2 cups finely minced mushrooms (about 6 ounces)
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1 tablespoon butter
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 thin refrigerated pizza crust
1 egg
1 tablespoon water
2 teaspoons poppy seeds
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.
2. Sauté the mushrooms and green onions in butter until tender.
3. Let the mixture cool slightly.
4. Combine the cooled vegetables with cream cheese and salt until smooth.
5. Roll out the pizza dough and spread the mixture evenly.
6. Roll the dough tightly from the long edge to form a log.
7. Slice into 1-inch rounds and place on the baking sheet.
8. Whisk the egg and water and brush over the tops.
9. Sprinkle with poppy seeds.
10. Bake for 10–12 minutes until golden.
11. Transfer to a cooling rack and serve.
Notes
These spirals are excellent for parties and can be made ahead. Chill the log before slicing for cleaner cuts.
