Description
Crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavor, these Cheesy Chicken Taco Cups are the ultimate easy appetizer. Made with shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, salsa, and baked in wonton wrappers, they’re perfect for parties, potlucks, or a fun twist on taco night.
Ingredients
2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
1 tablespoon taco seasoning
1/2 cup salsa
24 wonton wrappers
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Sour cream, for serving
Green onions, sliced, for serving
Fresh tomatoes, chopped, for serving
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin pan to prevent sticking.
2. In a mixing bowl, stir together the shredded chicken, taco seasoning, and salsa until evenly combined.
3. Press one wonton wrapper into each muffin cup, gently shaping it to form a cup. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the chicken mixture into each, then sprinkle with about 1 tablespoon of shredded cheese.
4. Add a second wonton wrapper on top, pressing it down slightly. Repeat with another small spoonful of chicken mixture and finish with a final sprinkle of cheese.
5. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the wonton edges are golden and crisp and the filling is heated through.
6. Let cool slightly, then serve warm topped with sour cream, green onions, and chopped tomatoes if desired.
Notes
You can prep these taco cups ahead and refrigerate before baking. Reheat leftovers in an oven or air fryer for best crispiness. Feel free to swap in Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack for added flavor.
