Description

Sweet Medjool dates stuffed with creamy goat cheese, wrapped in crispy turkey bacon, and baked until perfectly caramelized. This easy appetizer balances sweet and savory flavors and works beautifully for parties, holidays, or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

8 slices turkey bacon, cut in half

16 Medjool dates, pitted

4 ounces goat cheese

16 toothpicks

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

2. Cut a slit lengthwise in each date, leaving one side attached, and remove the pit if needed.

3. Fill each date with a small spoonful of goat cheese, then gently press it closed.

4. Wrap each stuffed date with a half slice of turkey bacon and secure it with a toothpick.

5. Place the dates on a rimmed baking sheet, spacing them evenly apart.

6. Bake for 10 minutes, then turn each date onto one side.

7. Bake for 5 to 8 minutes more, until the turkey bacon begins to brown.

8. Turn the dates to the other side and continue baking until the outside is browned and the dates are warmed through.

9. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use soft Medjool dates for best results.

Allow the dates to rest briefly after baking so the filling sets slightly.

For extra flavor, try adding a toasted almond or a light drizzle of maple syrup before baking.
